Andrey Chekhonin makes his third SENSHI appearance

One of the WAKO PRO world titles will be on the line on February 22 at Varna’s Palace of Culture and Sports. SENSHI 5 will produce 9 stunning fights and the seventh one is one of the most special.

France’s Abderrahim Chafay will be defending his World WAKO PRO title in the -85.1 kg category. His adversary is Russia’s Andrey Chekhonin who will be making his third SENSHI appearance.

The bout is scheduled for 5 rounds and will be conducted under the WAKO PRO low kick rules.

Chekhonin is a 4-time kickboxing champion of Russia and a two-time winner of the prestigious Russian fight night ”Battle of champions”. In his last SENSHI appearance, Andrey captured the “SENSHI Cup”.

The Russian karateka has first dan in Kyokushin and he’s a WAKO world kickboxing champion.

His adversary, the 42-year-old Chafay is a national muay thai champion of France in 2011 and national kickboxing champ in 2012.

Fighters from all around the world will take part in this elite fight night. This time three dutch kickboxing legends will be special guests of the event. Four-time K-1 World Heavyweight Grand Prix Winners Ernesto Hoost and Semmy Schilt, and the three-time K-1 World Heavyweight Grand Prix Champion Peter Aerts. They will be joined by the KWU General Secretary Shihan Alexandr Pichkunov, who is a finalist in the K-1 Grand Prix Series from 2007 and 2008. The special guests are also expected to be refereeing to some of the bouts!
