K-1 legend Semmy Schilt gets inducted into GLORY Hall of Fame

Kickboxing icon and K-1 four-time heavyweight champion Semmy Schilt has been inducted into the GLORY Hall of Fame.

“Hightower”, a former GLORY heavyweight champion, was immortalized during the GLORY: Collision 4 event that took place on October 8th in Netherlands. Schilt is one of the regulars and the main instructor at the KWU International Professional League seminars that are taking place in Bulgaria.

The legend received a huge standing ovation from more than 15 000 fight fans prior to the huge main event between Alistair Overeem and Badr Hari.

“I have a history with GLORY and I have to admit I was a little surprised by this gesture”, Schilt admitted.

“I’m grateful for being inducted into the Hall of Fame, I wasn’t expecting this. I want to thank my wife. She supported me throughout the whole time – before and after fights. I also want to thank my K-1 brother and all the opponents I ever faced. Shout out to Remy Bonjasky, and Peter Aerts it was always a pleasure to fight them. If it weren’t for guys like them, I‘d never be the champion that I was”, Schilt said.
