The European champion of BKKF from the championships in Armenia won the women’s title on 2 November at a tournament in Austria.
The remarkable two titles in karate kyokushin brought our country Monika Stoyanova in just 7 days – the women’s champion won the gold medals at the European Championships in Armenia at the end of October and at an international tournament in Austria this Saturday.
The young sports hope Monica Stoyanova won the new gold medal for Bulgaria in the international championship 1st Austrian K.O.CUP held on November 2 in Vienna, Austria, with 251 participants from 20 different countries. In the women’s 55 kg category, as a representative of the national team of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation /BKKF/, she won first place after contested matches and overcame quite famous and strong rivals. The special prize of the tournament organizers for “Best Women Fighter” was awarded again to Monika Stoyanova.
At the international tournament in Austria, our country was represented by 12 young athletes of SC “Okami Dojo” – Asenovgrad, as the Bulgarian karatekas won 8 medals – 2 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze awards.
Monica’s achievement comes just a few days after the successful performance of the national team at the European Championships in Yerevan. It shows the dedication of our young karters climbing international sporting peaks. She was part of the golden Bulgarian BKKF team that brought 5 championship titles and 12 medals to our country this year.
Monica Stoyanova became the 2024 European Champion in the women’s category at the European Championships in Armenia, achieving her big goal – to lift the European title for women as well. Before this achievement, she was a four-time world champion, a three-time European women’s Kyokushin karate champion, and a winner in international tournaments.
In July this year, at the World Cup “Varna”, held in Kamchia, Stoyanova won first place in the age group cadets – 18-21 years, in the category up to 60 kg after four excellent matches. In addition to first place in her category at the Varna World Cup, she also won the prize for the best technique in the cadet group.
The young lady seems to have a bright future in karate kyokushin, and we look forward to her new sporting successes.
