What is the purpose of Martial Arts Color Belts?

Belts play a significant role in determining and understanding your level of success in martial arts. These belts not only symbolize the level of your success but they also define that you are improving your skills with proper training. Additionally, these martial arts belts determine your level of devotion towards a specific category.

White Belt

White belt defines that your journey has just begun. It symbolizes your level of enthusiasm for new learning. It is awarded to a person who is considered to be new in this new world of martial arts with the complete hope that he will learn and improve his skills with time.

Yellow Belt

As yellow color symbolizes new rays and shine that symbolizes the beginning of a new day so in the case of Martial arts, the yellow belt is awarded to a student who actually starts fruitfully learning this practice. The yellow belt also defines that the new phase of a student’s .life is taking positive turns as he’d learned at his best.

Orange belt

The orange color represents the growing strength of the sun. So, in the case of martial arts belts, the orange belt is given to a student who improves his learning skills towards martial arts. It represents that the student has opened up his mind and he is availing all the best possible opportunities to improve his skills.

Green belt

The green belt represents that the learner has successfully learned the basic martial arts skills. The green belt is awarded to a student who is intermediate in his skills and takes a successful step towards a new beginning and learning.

Blue Belt

Blue color represents that the mind and body of a student are continuously growing. He is getting well skilled in his domain. It is awarded to a student who has started learning technical skills and additional knowledge about martial arts.

Purple Belt

As purple color symbolizes the color of dawn so in martial arts it is awarded to students who are converting into the latest and advanced stages of the learning phase.

Brown Belt

Brown belt is awarded to a student whose skill is getting matured and he is improving towards a higher expertise level. The Brown belt symbolizes the student’s devotion to learning and polishing his skills.

Red Belt

As red color defines the strength of the sun, red color in martial arts also defines that student is well trained in his domain. Additionally, the red color also signifies danger so the red belt is considered to be more dangerous.

Black Belt

The black belt is awarded to a student who seeks complete knowledge in martial arts. Black color symbolizes that a person is a master in his field and he can give training about his skills to others. Many individuals are considered to be experts after earning a black belt and they can transfer their skills to others as well.

Belts are considered to be a token of appreciation whereas the ultimate aim should be the improvement in the learning phase.
