FAVORITES OF THE 3rd KWU WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – Men -65 kg.

In the last days before the championship we will introduce you favorites of the 3rd KWUCHAMP

The forecast based on the current statistics of athletes is nothing more than a forecast. At the World Championship 2015, the most “calculated” forecasts did not concur even by 50%.

Men -65 kg

Weight category under 65 kg (23 participants)

The winners of previous two World Championships in this weight category are:

  1. Kasumov Farid (Russia);
  2. Mansurov Marsel (Russia).

The category is saturated with strong competitors. Many athletes have clearly manifested themselves in 2017.

I want to mention especially the experienced fighters: Dmitry Moiseyev, two-time winner and bronze medalist of the WKO World Cup, and Daniel Redondo, Spanish lightweight with virtuous technique, who is multiple winner and prize-winner of world and European tournaments.

Dmitry Moiseyev

But titles do not fight on tatami. The KWU rules differ slightly from the rules of individual organizations. At the KWU World Championship 2015, Dmitry Moiseyev already faced this, having lost in the first bout by warnings. Probably, Dmitry and his coaching staff made conclusions. We hope that this time he will be able to make his way to the medals.

Japanese athlete Kotaro Yamashita won the bronze medal at the 1st KWU World Championship and will again fight for the award.

Iranian fighter Ghanbari Mohammad Sadegh this summer became the silver medalist of the IFK World Championship in Romania and is also able to compete.

The Russian hope of this weight category is Ivan Tumashev, young, ambitious and capable. It is very difficult to pass the Russian selection to the World Championship, in terms of complexity it can be compared with getting into the prizes of the Championship itself. The Championship is held in Yekaterinburg, in the home of Ivan. If the support of his fans does not grow into a burden of responsibility, then Tumashev may well reach the final.

Daniel Redondo

The analysis of the favorites is based on the comparison of athletes’ achievements in the period from 2015 to the present day.

However, the forecast based on the current statistics of athletes is nothing more than a forecast. At the World Championship 2015, the most “calculated” forecasts did not concur even by 50%.

Tatami is the place for a feat. Whoever will be ready for the feat on the day of the tournament will win a medal.
