Women -65 kg

Weight category under 65 kg (17 participants)

The winners of previous two World Championships in this weight category are:

  1. Sabaeva Anzhelika (Russia);
  2. Sabaeva Anzhelika (Russia).

Twice “golden” Anzhelika Sabayeva looks able to defend her champion throne again.

The closest rivals, as in the previous Championships, are the two-time prize-winner of the Championships Aneta Meskauskiene, with which Anzhelika already met in the final, and the bronze medalist Lisa Marie Heath from Britain.

By achievements, the Japanese leader Aota Maki and Alexandra Pecinka from Austria can be added to the group of leaders.

The analysis of the favorites is based on the comparison of athletes’ achievements in the period from 2015 to the present day.

However, the forecast based on the current statistics of athletes is nothing more than a forecast. At the World Championship 2015, the most “calculated” forecasts did not concur even by 50%.

Tatami is the place for a feat. Whoever will be ready for the feat on the day of the tournament will win a medal.
