KYOKUSHIN KARATE: TIME TO BE UNITED!
On the 4th of October, 2015 in Khabarovsk, Russia there was a signing of the Agreement of cooperation among Kyokushin World Union (KWU) and World Karate Organization Shinkyokushinkai (WKO).
One of the main aims of cooperation is the promotion of karate to the international Olympic movement. The arrangement of common sports tournaments and formation of united judicial rules are also planned. By the way, for the first time there were more than 30 Shinkyokushinkai sportsmen from different countries, who took part in the Championship in Khabarovsk.
WKO Shinkyokushinkai is the international organization that develops Kyokushin, unites thousands of sportsmen in more than 80 countries of the World. The headquarters of this organization is situated in Tokyo. The President of the organization Shihan Kenji Midori also is the head of the Japanese Fullcontact Karate Organization (JFKO), the structure that was created with the support of the Japanese government in order to promote the contact karate to the Olympic movement.
«Kyokushin founder had only one karate» – noted Shihan Kenji Midori the President of WKO Shinkyokushinkai. He appreciates the great value of the work of Kyokushin World Union on uniting the international organizations of different schools and Kyokushin directions in one movement. He also invited the representatives of international organizations that are in Kyokushin World Union to come to the 11th Absolute Shinkyokushinkai World Championship that will be held in the beginning of November 2015 in Tokyo.
«Today a historical step has been made in the renascence of Kyokushin school, the two great organizations have united, they together are able to speed up the promotion of karate to the Olympic sports» – said Mr. Yuri Trutnev, the Co-chairman of KWU.
