Bulgarian National Cup “Vereya” was held in Stara Zagora

For the 35th time, karatekas from all over the country gathered in the Stara Zagora Sports Hall “Ivan Vazov” on April 27 (Saturday) to compete in the National Cup “Vereya.” 120 competitors from 26 clubs of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation took part in the competition, divided into 21 categories for men, women, and juniors (boys and girls).

The competition allowed the participants to demonstrate their talent and sporting potential in the discipline of “Kumite” (full-contact fighting) to recognize the most successful karatekas.

In addition to the championship titles, special prizes were awarded to Anton Ugrenov from “Sentoki” Burgas and Iva Momchilova from club “Armeec” Sofia. The juniors category winners were Atanas Raichev from club “Okami” Asenovgrad and Zornitsa Mileva from “Asken” Stara Zagora.

Shihan Asen Asenov personally awarded the Special Cup “Vereya” to Kristian Ivanov from Sports Club “Kyokushin” Shumen. Ivanov was outstanding in his tactical style and attractive victories over his opponents in his category.

The event organizers were Stara Zagora Municipality, “Asken” Sports Club, and the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation (BKKF).
