Three BKKF athletes won three medals at a tournament in Romania

Bulgarian karatekas took part in the 11th edition of “Bucharest Challenge” – Romanian Open Cup on 26 October

On 26.10.2024, three representatives of SC “Zanshin” – Varna took part in the 11th edition of “Bucharest Challenge” – Romanian Open Cup, which was held in Bucharest with a total of 412 participants from 10 countries.

The students of the sports club, member of the Bulgarian Karate Kyokushin Federation /BKKF/, made an excellent performance in a competitive environment at the International Kyokushin Championships, returned to Bulgaria with one gold and two bronze medals.

The cadet from the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy in Varna – Julien Gabrovski, won the championship title in the men’s category up to 85 kg.

In his first competition in the men’s category, Andrey Stoimenov performed well and grabbed the bronze medal up to 75 kg., and Georgi Valkov became the bronze medalist in juniors 16-17 years up to 70 kg.

The coaches of the Bulgarian team were Sensei Prolet Vassileva and Sempai Vayana Gradinarska. In November the BCKF athletes will take part in two more competitions, for which we wish them success and new awards!
