Dolph Lundgren Talks About His Martial Arts History (video)

Boec.COM presents you a celebrity interview with Dolph Lundgren!

“I must break you”, was the classical quote when Rocky IV hit the box office during the ’80s, a time when action heroes ruled supreme. Lundgren holds the rank of 4th dan black belt in Kyokushin karate and was European champion in 1980–81!

At age seven, he tried judo and Gōjū-ryū. He took up Kyokushin karate at the age of 10.

Amidst his years of studying, Lundgren honed his karate skills by training hard in the dojo for five years, attaining the rank of 2nd dan black belt in Kyokushin in 1978.

He captained the Swedish Kyokushin karate team and was a respected challenger at the 1979 World Open Tournament (organized by the Kyokushin Karate Organization) when he was only a green belt. He won the European championships in 1980 and 1981.
