Ukraine’s Vladyslav Fostenko won his second fight under the SENSHI banner. Fostenko defeated France’s Amirouche Filali via decision, capturing the European SENSHI title in the -90 kg category.
Petar Martinov was the referee of the bout that took place in Kamchia, Bulgaria.
The Ukrainian was the aggressor in the early stages of the fight, landing some big right hands in the face of Filali. The Frenchman was looking to get on the inside and to fight a close fight, but he was often getting picked apart when in range.
Fostenko’s reach and height advantage was giving him the luxury of fighting wherever he wants, as he was often landing combos and getting back a step or two.
Filali, who was making his SENSHI debut, was relying solely on his low kicks, but he couldn’t get the result he was looking for. Meanwhile, Fostenko was selective with his shots and wasn’t rushing with the body kicks. His transition from offense to defense was quicker and smoother and Foleli punches were only working when he committed.
In the final round, Filali’s nose got busted from the hooks he was absorbing and there were a few good opportunities where he can finish Foleli, but France’s fighter showcased resistance and heart and managed to get to the final.
